Features of Sound Manager 3.1 and 3.2.1

This section describes some of the features that were introduced with Sound Manager versions 3.1 and 3.2.1 and are now present in Sound Manager 3.3. You can check the configuration of the user's Sound Manager software by calling the SndSoundManagerVersion routine to get the installed version number.

Sound Manager 3.1 and 3.2.1 added three new audio codecs, significant performance increases on the Power Macintosh line of computers, and asynchronous alert sounds. They are completely backwards compatible with previous versions of the Sound Manager.
